So having no MMO’s worth playing, I took a leap and decided to reinstall and reactivate my EQ2 account. After several hours of updates, I finally got logged in. Since it had been June of 2005 since I had last played, there were a lot of updates and changes. The first is the alternative (SOGA) models. I must say I absolutely love the alternative models over the original models. I wish we would of had these when the game was originally released. So after messing around with character creation, I decided to login to the 31 Assassin I had when I had quit playing. Well after logging in, I of course have to re-setup my skills and everything else since they have changed the classes around so much. So a half hour or so after that I finally start playing. With the LFG tool and the new level based chat channels I found a group quickly to do some hunting in the Runis of Varsoon. We spent about 4 hours in there, I got some loot that was a lot better then the “top of the line” crap I had when I had quit EQ2, and I had fun the whole time. I can feel the old “evercrack” coursing through my veins and I think I will be spending a lot more time re-exploring the world of EQ2. With the new expansion coming out it will give me the other 2 expansions free, so I will definately be picking that up. All in all I would definately say give EQ2 another try if you use to play, and if you are new to MMO’s definately give EQ2 a try. Its a lot better then it use to be and the new expansion is bring a lot of new features that will make it even more enjoyable. Check out Everquest 2 for more information. Enjoy!
